Google search has finally fixed the very old bug which is used to manipulate the search results and spread misinformation.

This bug was found and warned by the UK- based security expert Wietze Beukema, the bug allows users to exploit the Knowledge Panels that appear with some search results

These queries generate URLs with the Kgmid and Kponly Parameters that tell google to display the Knowledge Graphs/Panels with the standard search results

The Beukema warned these parameters decide the content to be displayed within the panes, could be easily copy-pasted,swapped or added to any other search URL to create complete unrelated Knowledge Panels, potentially misinforming the users.

This flaw now seems to be fixed with the manipulated URLs returning a message that reads – “your Search did not match any documents”.
