Highlights:

Asus had launched the pie update for ZenFone 5Z in Taiwan. Asus ZenFone 5Z was originally introduced in February last year at the Mobile World Congress and reached the Indian market at July 2018. The phone initially ran on Android 8.0 Oreo.

The company has announced that , Indian users will receive the Android pie update through OTA. The phones are shortly to receive the pie updates in packages.

The latest update will take the phone to Android 9 Pie. If you don’t want to wait for the OTA notification, you can try manually triggering the update by going to

Settings > About > System Update.


Short highlights on the phone:

  • Display- 6.2″ full HD+
  • Processor- Snapdragon 845
  • Storage- 8GB RAM 128GB memory
  • Rear camera – 12 mp + 8mp Sony sensor
  • Front camera- 8mp

The update seems to provide new features like:

  • contextual pop-up volume bar
  • Magnifier feature for easier copy-and-paste
  • Improved camera performance

Asus had started to release the pie update from last month in it’s birth place.
